Mark Webber’s Most Hair-Raising Crashes

Mark Webber is one of the best-known names in motor sports, especially in Australia. He dominated quite a few circuits for quite a few years … and you can’t do that for long without also having some spectacular crashes! Here we look at Mark Webber’s Formula One career and some of the most wince-inducing moments in it.

24 Hours of Le Mans race – 1999

I’m fairly certain somebody would have been fired over this Mark Webber racing crash. During the 1999 24 Hours of Le Mans event, an aero dynamic fault on Mercedes Benz CLRs caused Mark Webber to simply become air borne while driving and flip in mid air! It happened during both practice runs and race-day warm up, and to Peter Dumbreck as well as Mark Webber’s Formula one car… though why they didn’t figure out what happened after at least the second occurrence and pull the vehicles, I have no idea.

Mark Webber Pure TasmaniaChallenge

Mark Webber under went surgery on a broken right leg after crashing during his own Mark Webber racing event in 2008. He did make a quick recovery, though. He was actually riding a push bike at the time!

2003 Brazilian Grand Prix

Mark Webber was trying to cool his tyres by driving through a puddle, which caused him to lose grip and plough straight into the walls of pit straight.Probably not the highlight of Mark Webber’s formula one career, but certainly a lesson learned!

2006 Japanese Grand Prix

This Mark Webber Formula One crash was blamed on Bridgestone tires, and was less eventful than some others.
